Cash Drawer Excel Spreadsheet

To make life a little easier, we have included the Excel Spreadsheet we use every day to balance out two cash drawers in our store.  We made a sight modification, which you can easily change, for single drawer usage.  We show that the bottom drawer has 125 ones in it, which will cause you to balance correctly if you use just one drawer.

 

Copy this empty file to a folder in which you will store all of your daily excel reports.  

We made a shortcut pointing to this file on our desktop.  Alter balancing, we do a Save As to our folder.

 

I won't spend too much time on this, the best way to learn it is to experiment using a copy on your own.  Just count your currency and enter the number of dimes, fives, etc.  Then itemize your credit card receipts, checks, etc.  The report assumes you start with $125 each day.  It reports on how much cash should be removed daily to end with $125 in cash.
