Pole Display Features

You can optionally add some pizzazz to you BookAccents System by installing a Customer Pole Display.  Not only does this give your store a new level of professionalism (image is important), but it will also provide a great deal of daily functionality.  Think about this for a minute.  Why does every single chain store have a register with a Customer Pole Display.  It has to be because it works.  Customers demand it.

We have taken the raw hardware and incorporated specialized book selling and trading features.  You will quickly see how your customers focus their attention on the display when trading any buying books.

The display is available in a single sided model or double sided that can be seen from a variety of locations.

When you first enter the Cash Register Module, the Customer Pole Display will respond with a "Hello" Message.

In our case, here, we entered the customer's book credits first.  The Customer Pole Display  Responds by displaying the (original) value of the credits. (That is before any were used for this transaction).

If/when you enter the credits at the end of the transaction, you should enter the cursor into the amount paid field in order for the data on the pole display to be refreshed and reflect the credits and display the total.

Now we start scanning books into the Cash Register.  Each time a new item is scanned, the Customer Pole Display will show the amount of the item, as well as the total amount due at that time (Sales Tax Included).

Our version of BookAccents is configured to not allow store credits on new books, this is a new book.

The amount of the credit does not affect the total due.  (Since our BookAccents version is set up to not allow credits to be used on New Books)

We have just scanned another new book.

The amount of the credit does not affect the total due.  However, the total reflects our sales tax.

This is a used book, priced at $3.50.  We are configured to allow 1/2 credits be applied on used books.  Note that BookAccents automatically made the calculation to reflect how much will be due.

When we select a payment type, the Customer Pole Display responds by showing the total amount due.

I mean, by "selecting a payment type", that you clicked one of the Payment Buttons, or placed the cursor in the Amount Paid Field.

Note that this display reverts back to the total, before credits, then calculates the credits, plus sales tax and displays the total.

Of course, the total due is the same as the picture above, we just recalculate it this way to make it easier you and your customer to understand the math.

If you choose to accept a credit card, this shows a representative display.

Our credit card machine sits between two invoicing stations.  I am unable to read the computer monitor from that distance, but I can still see well enough to read the Customer Pole Display.  This avoids the embarrassment of shuffling across the floor to look at the amount I need to plug into the credit card machine.

When you choose Check as the payment type, BookAccents' Customer Pole Display provide a very convenient feature.  The payee name that you choose the customer to write on the check is scrolled for on the display him.

In this case we entered a payment of $20.00 as a Cash Transaction.  Upon depressing the print button, the Pole display responded with this display.

Note that the change is calculated and displayed.  It is displayed large enough for both you and your customers to read.

A similar capability was developed for the book trading side of the business.  This is an extremely helpful feature when dealing with customers who insist upon looking over your shoulder as you are calculating the value of traded books.

This is, of course, the starting display when you select the BookAccents, Book Trading Feature.

As books are scanned, the Customer Pole Display simply displays the amount given for a book as well as a running total.

One final feature:  Your Customer Pole Display will display up to three marketing messages for you during the periods of inactivity.  You enter the messages to display
