When you depress the "Lookup by Auth/Title" Button, the Lookup by Author/Title Screen appears.
We are looking for Crichton's book "Prey". To find it, we surrounded the name with a pair of asterisks "*prey* " . The lookup Asterisk convention simply stated is:
By typing in "Prey" we find all books with "Prey" anywhere in its title.

A list similar to this one is displayed. Don't worry about all of the elements at this time. We see that our search for "*prey*" resulted in a long list of books; more than one page, in fact.
Notice that "Michael Crichton" shows up in the left hand frame. These names are sorted by First Names, first. Let's Click on "Michael Crichton".

When you depress the "Inventory" Link, the following screen appears, exactly as though you did a Lookup by ISBN.
When you perform a lookup, and only the ISBN shows (NO Bar-code), as indicated in the yellow highlight, indicates that you never have had the book in stock. The ISBN is, however, in hour main ISBN Database. |

That's it for a simple example, but there is more: Lookup Additional Views.
