LOGIC CONTROLS CR3003 USB CASH DRAWER ===================================== 7/23/2003 This driver disk for our CR3003 USB Cash Drawer contains drivers for Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Follow the following installation instructions carefully. After installing the USB driver, run the utiltiy software "CR3usbEdit" included in the driver diskette to set the drawer opening codes. DRIVER INSTALLATION ------------------- When hardware is installed correctly, Windows will detect the USB cash drawer and start device driver installation. Insert the driver diskette into floppy disk drive A and follow instructions on screen to install the driver. 1. When Windows tried to search for a driver, click on the check box “Specify a location “ and click [Next]. Enter “A:\” and click [Next]. 2. If Windows indicates that it also found other drivers that are suitable, click on the check box “Install one of the other drivers”. 3. Select "CR3COM.inf” and click [Next]. 4. When finished installing, click [Finish]. 5. Go to "Device Manager" to check that the cash drawer has been installed correctly under "Ports (COM & LPT)" section and note down the Port number. 6. Set up your software pole display configuration section to use the installed COM port number. SETTING UP CASH DRAWER OPENING CODE ----------------------------------- 1. With Windows Explorer, select floppy drive A and double click on the file "CR3usbEdit" to start the utiltiy software. 2. Select COM port name on the utility start up screen as shown under Device Manager and click OK. 3. Enter number of bytes to be used for the opening code in the "Bytes in command" box (1 to 5). 4. Enter the decimal code values in the boxes Byte1 to Byte5. For example, enter '7' for "Ctrl-G" to open the drawer. If the code is less than 5 bytes, just leave the additional boxes blank. 5. If the POS retail software requires the use of any code to open the drawer, check the "Dummy code" box. Then any data sent to the USB port will open the drawer. 6. Click "Write CR3000" button to write settings to the CR3003. 7. Set up the POS retail software with same opening code and COM port name for the cash drawer. 8. Test with the POS retail software. Note: For security reason, it's recommended that the programming utility software should not be copied onto the cashier station computer to avoid unauthorized change of the opening codes.
