The following assumes that you are using a USB version of the Symbol LS2208 reader.

Your scanner is programmed by scanning setup information contained on
the following "PDF"
file for this scanner. It
is your responsibility, or whom ever sold you the scanner to perform the
programming.
If you wish, you may print the entire file. I really do not recommend this because it will take almost a full ream of paper. Additionally, most of the information is superfluous. Clicking the link below loads the pdf file. It takes a while to load, it is about 3.5 MB, so just wait a minute or so. Adobe PDF Reader will launch and display the file for you.

Your scanner is only properly programmed when it will satisfactorily read the bar-code located on the inside front cover of a Mass Market Paperback, and transfer the correct information to BookAccents. It generally does not come to you from the factory programmed to perform in this manner.
A definitive test is to try the example below. Until your results match these, your bar-code reader IS NOT Properly programmed.
