Supplier Screen (Source)

Warning:  DO NOT delete all of the supplier in this database.  Doing so will cause you to not be able to launch BookAccents

This is a NEW Feature of 5.5x.

You got here by selecting  Supplier Maintenance from the Utility PullDown

Since BookAccents can treat all of your books uniquely, we have provided a method to allow you to classify these books.  We decided to categorize these by the supplier from which you obtained the books.  Generally, your costs and the discounts you will allow are based on your supplier.

For example, most of our new books come from Ingram.  Our base discount is 40% off, and we generally sell them for 15% off of retail.  We get other books from remainder dealers.  Our costs are generally 80 - 95% off, and we mark them between 30% and 40% off retail.  Finally we get lots of books in on trade.  We generally apply a "cost" of $.30 for and mark them at between 50% - 75% off retail.

To make it as efficient as possible to insert your books into inventory and print labels for these books we allow you to set up "Defaults" for your suppliers.

Our international user can use this feature to convert the prices charged for their books in their Local Currency.  By manipulation the Paid Percentage  and the Discount Percentage, you can adjust the prices to reflect local currency.

The "Supplier" Screen allows you to maintain a database of suppliers "From:" Default Parameter.

This provides an easy method of telling BookAccents how to price books, and to quickly establish inventory values by setting your "cost" values.

Our example at the left shows a supplier named A1Overstocks.  We buy Remainder books from them at 85% off of retail, we want to mark these books at 40% off of retail when we insert them into inventory by printing a label.
